Tour at 17:00

Report from Hafsúlan: It was a very calm evening when we sailed out into Faxa Bay. It was a bit foggy offshore but the sea condition was much better than this morning. We were searching for a long long time and we almost lost hope to see something UNTIL a Minke Whale surfaced on the left side of the boat, just 50 meters away. We stopped immediately and this individual was very nice, easy going probably feeding as it started changing directions constantly. It was a total relief and we spent some extra time with this Minke before we headed back to Hafnarfjördur were we ended the tour today. Sometimes patience pays off!

Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: It was raining a lot when we sailed out but the wind had calmed down a lot. We had to search for a long time before we spotted a pod of White Beaked Dolphins. They were traveling quite slowly all together so we managed to see them well and also the white patches on their bodies. We were quite far out so after a while we had to go back to Reykjavík. We also saw some Northern Gannets flying around in search for fish, which is always very nice to observe.

Tour at 9:00

Report from Hafsúlan: The sea was a bit choppy this morning but so far no rain. We saw some Northern Gannets flying around and our fish finder told us that there was a lot of fish in the area which made us hope that we could spot some animals. Despite a long search we only spotted a few White Beaked Dolphins and they were very elusive we only saw them once or twice so we gave all our passengers complimentary tickets valid for 2 years so they could come back on another whale watching tour for free whenever they want.
