Report from Eldey: Large swells and quite some wind from the south was expected in the afternoon and we prepared ourselves with warm overalls and seasickness tablets that we give out on our boats for free. The weather was a mix of overcast, some light rain and a glimpse of sun here and there. Only 30 minutes of sailing we encountered a small pod of 2-3 harbour porpoises and could enjoy a few really nice views on these lovely cetaceans. They are just simply adorable. Then we continued our search in the bay and heard after about an hour over the radio that another boat had spotted a small pod of 3-4 white-beaked dolphins. We were lucky enough to find them as well and could enjoy their presence for quite a while. Although the dolphins were moving around a lot and were diving quickly, we could see them really close, directly under the water surface. It was great to see their white beaks coming above the water surface first before their cute head would appear. After a while we continued sailing and after 20 minutes encountered another pod of dolphins, about 4-5 individuals. These dolphins surface directly in front of us before they went down for a deep dive and vanished. Even though we did not see them anymore, it was a great ending to our tour. A nice day out in Faxa bay.

Report from Eldey: It was fairly mild as we sailed out into the bay this morning with only a little wind. The sea was fairly flat but we had long rolling swells causing a few passengers to feel a bit queasy. It was a bit difficult to find cetaceans today but the bay was full of bird life. A huge flock european shags were chilling on the waters surface and then suddenly all took off in unison like a massive black cloud, which was quite spectacular to watch. On the sail home we had the wind to our back which made very pleasant sailing. Unfortunately there were no cetaceans to see in the bay this morning and due to this complimentary tickets were given out to all our passengers allowing them to come on one of our tours again for free.
