CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Eldey: Today the snow made the visibility close to Reykjavik a bit challenging, but the very flat seas helped! We first started going around Videy island due to the recent sightings, where we ended up finding the beloved 2 humpback whales that decided to spend their winter holidays in Faxaflói! Banana and Radar (now we have a name for it!) were very calm, taking their time on the surface and not spending a long time under. A couple of times, they treated us by popping up very close to our vessel, allowing us to see their details up close! Then, we decided to go a bit further, and we spotted a big head of a harbour seal looking at us with a seagull friend next to it. Not far from there, we spotted a couple of dorsal fins! When we got closer to check them out, we saw we had 4 white-beaked dolphins, 2 mommas and 2 babies! They were not alone, though: a few seconds after seeing them, we also realized our surroundings were full of fins! About 30 more dolphins were around, some of them jumping like crazy, others feeding... We stayed mostly with the babies, since one of them was also showing off giving some very cute leaps! We couldn't get enough of it! However, it was time to say goodbye and we started our way back home. What a lovely tour it was!
