CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: This morning we sailed out into a moody grey bay. There was a bit of wind coming from the South, so we headed for adveture and went straight into it. After some time we turned and it went with the wind, making it much more pleasant. We were surrounded by lots of different birds such as Arctic terns and puffins but sadly saw no cetaceans. We continued sailing and tried our best to find something bigger, however this morning we were unlucky. To give everyone the chance to come back again for free we handed out complimentary tickets! This way everyone can come back and try again! On the way back we enjoyed music and hot chocolates, still enjoying the moody nature.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 11:00

Report from Elding - this afternoon we sailed out in fog and light drizzle, hopeful to spot some cetaceans. After three days of cancelled tours due to weather we were looking forward to try our luck, hoping that the water mixing will bring more whales. We sailed through a few of our usual spots, where upwellings bring the food to the surface but unfortunately there was nothing to see there. We tried a few more spots with not much more luck either. On the way back we stopped at Lundey, the puffin island to see some of those iconic birds up close. Because of no sightings today we offered all our passengers complementary tickets, so they can try their luck again on another tour.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING l 13:00

Report from Eldey: This afternoon the seas were grey as lead and the skies thick with clouds, but nevertheless we were excited to venture out at sea again. After searching around for some time, our excitement was rewarded with a humpback whale! It surfaced very close to the boat multiple times and we were treated with a beautiful fluke dive as well! By the pattern on the bottom of the fluke we could also tell that this was the same individual that we,ve seen around here quite a lot in the last week or two. After some time, the humpback picked up its pace a bit and we wee able to see it lunge feeding a few times as well. Satisfied and content with this encounter, it was time for us to head back into port and end our day.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 20:30

Report from Eldey: We set sail on a calm and slightly windy night, but very excited to embark on our journey exploring the Faxafloi bay. After a long time of exploring, we see a blow in the distance. We got closer... and it was obviously a humpback whale!!!! Initially this one was a little shy, but the tour had just begun. The whale disappeared for a while, until suddenly came to the surface performing lunge feeding. It was beautiful because it was very close to the boat and we could hear the exhalation of the whale perfectly. At times it also showed its pectoral fins, so we also enjoyed its elegant and beautiful figure. We spent almost 2 hours enjoying the encounter until we had to say goodbye to the beautiful whale. It looked like it was about to breach as it was lunge feeding with a lot of force but we could not see it. Although all the sightings were beautiful... We saw it surfacing strongly in the distance as we made our way back to the harbour very excited.
