Tour at 17:00

The weather was really wonderful on this tour. After a day of rain it cleared up around five o'clock and we sailed out on the bay in sunshine and dry weather. The sea was also really calm so it was a fantastic evening :-) We spotted a group of harbour porpoises really close to the harbour. We hadn't even sailed past the puffin island yet! They were a nice surprise, so early in the tour. When we got further out on the bay we saw several minke whales and were able to observe a couple of them really well. They came up to the surface several times close to the boat. We also saw two other groups of harbour porpoises, so there was plenty of sightings and action on this tour ;-)

Tour at 13:00

Report from Elding: Still a bit rainy during the early afternoon tour. But whales were still out in the feeding ground. We spotted at least 10 Minke whales mainly feeding and some where close eveough to hear them breathing while coming up. Then we spotted a grouo of 4 white-beaked dolphins with a calf!

Report from Hafsúlan: The sea was calm and it rained a bit when we sailed out on the bay. We went to an area with many minke whales and a lot of feeding birds. The minkes were surfacing all around the boat, some far away and some closer, and it was very nice to observe them all. We also spotted the same group of white beaked dolphins as Elding did, they were nice and surfaced several times close to the boat. This was a nice tour :-)

Tour at 9:00

It was raining when we went out u-in Faxafloi bay. We first spotted Puffins on  Lundey then we headed to the whales. As soon as we spotted the first Minke whale the rain stopped and we start seeing a lot of them everywhere around us. They were mainly feeding and some got very close. On the way back the sun was shingin and we encountered a group of 10 White-beaked dolphins.
