Report from Eldey: This morning we had mostly cloudy skies, a good swell and a proper northeastern wind, which later on would turn into a snowfall. We took the scenic route this morning as we searched around the islands, exploring around Viðey and Lundey. Later on we ventured into Hvalfjörður and on the way out, we spotted a large and very active pod of 10 white-beaked dolphins. They were speeding around, chasing the fish, multiple times passing just by us! The birds were following them for leftovers, which allowed us to keep up with where they were going, even when they were below the surface. After an exciting time with these individuals, we sailed in the direction of Reykjavik, where we passed by a pod of 5 harbour porpoises, seemingly also feeding with the support of an overhead flock of birds. This concluded our afternoon at sea so we could enter the harbour feeling well accomplished!
