Report from Eldey: After nice morning, we had lovely afternoon out on the sea. At the beginning we had to face some cold wind but soon Sun came up and warmed us up. Who would think that sunglasses will be the most useful gadget in winter time in Iceland? We made a good loop around the bay, surrounded by calm sea and outstanding mountain views. There was not much going on, even birds seemed to be just sun bathing instead of looking for food. In company of small flock of cormorants and two glaucous gull we saw maybe 3 harbour porpoises but as they weren't easy to watch, we just kept going. Unfortunately we didn't had a chance to enjoy watching whales or dolphin in the wild this time, but hopefully our passengers will try again as they were given complimentary tickets.

Report from Eldey and Hafsúlan: We were finally able to leave the harbour today with two boats, a busy morning it was, after a couple of days of cancellations due to the stormy weather. What a change today was, little wind, good seas and sunny skies. Perfect day to go whale and dolphin searching. We found a very productive area with a large flock of actively feeding seabirds and at least 10 very scattered, quick, elusive harbour porpoises. Passengers were also saying they saw a dark fin but unfortunatly other than the porpoises we didn´t really see any other cetaceans. We left the area after a very thorough search in the hope of having better luck. Our luck wasn´t on our side this tour and we arrived back at the harbour with complimentary tickets (free tour due to no sightings of whales and dolphins) but enjoyed the views, breeze and birdlife. In the end it was a beautiful day to be on the water.

Birds seen on today's tours: cormorant, shags, eider duck, kittiwake, common guillemot, black guillemot, diver (species unknown), gloucous gulls, greater black-backed gulls, northern fulmars, northern gannets.
We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today for the tour at 9:00 and 13:00. There could always be some movement out on the bay, so if your are prone to sea sickness we have sea sickness tablets available at our ticket office.
