Report from Eldey: This morning the weather was very good, even was a bit cloudy we could have some sun at the beginning and the sea was very flat. Due to the perfect sea conditions we could see easily any movement on the surface of the water and just outside the harbor we saw 2 harbour porpoises swimming fast crossing our route. Many birds also were just floating and diving busy catching some fish. We decided to check better the area with more birds around and indeed we saw 2 minke whales and one of them was quite close and we could spend some quality time with it for a while. After that we met a pod of 9 white beaked dolphins swimming and jumping in front of us and we also could see that two calves were in that group! It was so nice. Sadly we had to start our journey back but everybody really enjoyed the sightings!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 10:00
Report from Hafsulan: We sailed out this morning far out the bay, following the advice of the other boats. This took us about an hour during which we crossed 2 cheeky minke whales, appearing twice to breath before disappearing, one of the many we would see this morning. Later, as more birds started to appear in the open sea, we found our goal: a humpback whale started to blow, often arching its back but always reappearing for us. During these shallow dives, 3 other minke whales gave us full entertainement, roaming all around us. Having sailed far out the bay, we decided to head back straight home, which didn't stop us from having more sightings, with another 2 minke whales popping up on the way back.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Eldey: What a day. We sailed out in perfect conditions to spot any cetaceans: Clear and sunny sky and a completely calm sea. We sailed to a spot where we were in the morning. After a while we saw a lot of feeding Arctic terns and decided to approach. We were amazed by two feeding humpback whales. We saw them lunge-feeding and bubble-net-feeding very close to the boat. Within that spot we also saw about 5 different minke whales that were feeding as well.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 14:00
Report from Hafsúlan: We started the tour under an amazing sunny sky but as soon as we got further out we started to feel the wind and the waves caused by it. It turned into a bumpy ride. Soon after, we saw a blow, it was from a humpback. We got closer and we spotted 2 humpback whales that were feeding under a huge cloud of birds. There were arctic terns, black-headed seagulls, and black-backed gulls as well. What a beautiful show! After that, we came back to the harbor in a very rocky but funny ride.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 20:30
Report from Eldey: After the 1700 had been cancelled as the wind increased a lot we were excited to sail back out for the midnight tour. The wind was still coming from the North, so as soon as we passed the Whale-fjord it was smoother sailing. After about an hour of searching there was a breach directly in front of us. It was a humpback whale that jumped out at our 12. It then hid a little bit, sometimes spouting ahead of us. Then just as sudden as the breach 8 white beaked dolphins appeared. They were swimming and bow-riding right in front of us. Then - the humpback (again directly in front of us and very close) threw its tail out of the water, making a bog splash! The dolphins were essentially on top of the humpback, its always difficult to tell whether they are playing together or whether the dolphins are annoying the humpback. There was more dolphins around us, making it a total of roughly 12-15. Then, another breach! The dolphins were still all around and the humpback was rolling on its side and had its fluke out of the water. There was so much activity and suddenly it all went quiet. As we had been there for a while we decided to head back to harbour. However just as we turned and I announced we were going back another breach! What a perfect end to an incredible tour. We hung around a little and the humpback came up two more times but then we had to make our way back home.
