Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tour. Make sure to dress according to weather, as it is usually colder at sea than on land.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 1300

Report from Eldey: Before the crew had even been introduced the first blow from a humpback whale had been seen on this sunny day. It took about 15 minutes to get to this first whale, it was Ekki. Ekki was feeding on lots and lots of fish underneath us. They were constantly appearing in different places after varying dives times too. But we got a very good look at them before heading off to see what else we could find. We then saw a seal very close to the boat, 1 of 5 we saw on this trip. This included seeing a pair coming up and down, even swimming at the surface a bit, right at the end of the tour. About half way through the tour when we returned close to Videy we spotted a second humpback. It was our new unnamed friend that we first saw yesterday! They were also probably feeding but came up very regularly. They also did a few shy fluke dives which was cool to see. We then sailed around a bit more. We did spot another blow, likely from Calamity the 3rd humpback often here. But unfortunately there was a big cargo ship coming in so instead we decided to have another great look at Ekki before heading back to the harbour.
