✔ CLASSIC WHALE TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 09:00

Report from Elding: Sailing out this morning was nicely calm. We got into the bay and kept going until our captain spotted a group of 8-10 white-beaked dolphins. At the distance two juveniles were jumping, leaping and inverted leaping, having lots of fun. There were some mothers with calves and some individuals were actively bow riding our vessel. Soon after, another pod of likely 6 white-beaked dolphins joined our transect and they were surfing with the waves that our boat created, and stayed long around the boat. Another ride to remember with Elding!

Report from Eldey: Weather  and sea conditions were optimal for our trip. Unfortunately we could not properly see any cetaceans on this tour. However towards the end of the tour some people managed to see a humpback whale apparently breaching in the distance. We tried to find it again but we could not. Therefore we gave out complimentary tickets to anybody that wanted to one.

✔ PREMIUM WHALE TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 10:00

Report from Þruma : The sky was covered in clouds this morning but we had a dry tour without any drop of rain. The sea was a bit choppy but nothing scary we could had quite a smooth ride. Today the bay felt a bit empty with almost no bird and we had to go very far away to find some cetaceans with a group of 4 grown-up white-beaked dolphins. First they avoided us a bit, then when we tried again they came very close to check on us before they disappeared for good. We looked for other animals but unfortunately nothing happened and we had to go back. We gave complimentary tickets to our passenger to give them the possibility to come back on a classic whale watching tour try to see whales or have more time with dolphins.

✔ CLASSIC WHALE TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 13:00

Report from Eldey: The afternoon started with light rain. We went to have a look at Hvalfjördur, the whale fjord, the area where the captain spotted a blow of a possible humpback whale this morning. We had the honor of being able to enjoy the adventure of entering its waters, unfortunately the name of the fjord did not live up to its name. We photographed the mountains, the seabirds and enjoyed the search for the whales and dolphins that seem to be rather elusive. We offered to our passengers complimentary tickets for another whale watching tour valid next couple of years and have better luck next time.

✔ CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING ON SCHEDULE | 14:00

Report from Elding : There was still a very grey weather during this tour but we escaped the rain that was more on the land. We circled for a while looking for the whales, it was relaxed and calm sailing in those sea conditions. We found after 1h30 of looking a pod of 4-5 white-beaked dolphins with juveniles that were in the mood for some jumping, falling in big splashes in the water. But the parents were maybe not in the same mood because they were disappearing for a few minutes and when we found them again the juveniles jumped again. Then a second group of 4-5 white-beaked dolphins arrived, swimming very fast toward us and joining the first pod. Interesting to observe a bit the fission–fusion society of those animals, there type of social structure. After a few last jumps from an individual we lost them. During the way back we had a bit of sun and we saw a little rainbow near Reykjavik.

X PREMIUM WHALE TOUR CANCELLED | 14:00

✔ CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING ON SCHEDULE | 19:00

Report from Elding: We sailed out in very nice conditions, south easterly winds of about 5-7 m/s but this increased on the way home when we headed into the wind. We searched far and wide for life in Faxaflói Bay  and found 1 minke whale, first of the day, after about 1 hour into the tour and a small pod of 2-3 harbour porpoises that some but not all passengers saw. The mInke whale was great surfaced many times so that all passengers could see and we could stay for a while. It would have been nice ti see more, hopefully more life will find its way into the bay soon.
