CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: It´s a cold and fresh day in Reykjavík and the clouds are disappearing, allowing the sun to poke through and give us a nice and sunny day! Although it´s a bit cold, everyone dressed their overalls to come outside and enjoy the day. We stood on the same course for almost an hour but in the middle of this, we had our first sighting, a pod of harbour porpoises! They were very quick and decided to hide from us. Anyways, we carried on with our course and after the very end of an hour, we had our first blow! It was a humpback whale, with a beautiful fluke dive! This whale seemed precise on the timings as it was coming up for air every 10 minutes. So after a while, we decided to end the day and return home because we were very far from the harbour. On the way we still saw the harbour porpoises in the same area this time with a better look! What a sunny day this was!!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: We started the tour with an amazing sunny day. It felt quite relaxing with the sun shining on our faces as we headed out into the bay. As we got further we suddenly spotted around 6 harbor porpoises! But as always, these species act extremely elusively. Some time later we found a humpback whale that was first spotted by other boats in a different area. It was acting very elusively as well so we decided to move further out looking for another whale that just expelled a blow. We found it few minutes later and we realized it was also behaving quite elusively so it took us a while to get to see it properly. We got to see two humpback whales in the tour. After getting a good look at it we decided to come back while everybody was sunbathing on the upper deck in this early summer day!
