After a windy and cloudy day we decided to sail out for our midnight sun tour and try our luck! Despite some swell the wind had decreased a lot and we enjoyed the sunset at sea with the amazing views of the Faxaflói bay! It took us about 45 minutes before we started spotting some splashes in the distance. As we got closer we started seeing dolphins jumping high above the water! White beaked dolphins!! A very large pod! we had about 40-50 individuals surrounding the boat! Coming from all directions! Bow riding and jumping acrobatically over 50 times! Amazing show from these dolphins! We then decided to continue our trip and search a bit more, but after half an hour we started seeing the same type of splashes, as we approached we spotted the dolphins once more and by surprise one of our passengers saw a minke whale! the whale was quite shy but we managed to see it twice before it disappeared completely in the sunset. We managed to admire a few more jumps of the dolphins as we started our journey back to the harbour.
