CLASSIC WHALE TOUR l 09:00
Report from Hafsulan: With the sun slowly rising and casting pinks and oranges throughout the sky we set sail. It was not too long before we spotted blows in the distance and went to see who we had found. As we approached we had not 1, but 2 humpback whales! These individuals were very relaxed and glided along the surface. They then gave us a double fluke dive. It is always a thrill to see their unique patterns under their tails. They continued to repeat this pattern of multiple surfaces and then double fluke diving, which was amazing to see their tails so often. After multiple sequences, we waved them goodbye for the moment and went to see if anyone else was taking advantage of the abundance of food in the area. Shortly after we spotted three harbor porpoises. With the water being so calm we could track them and their splashes as they quickly surfaced. As is their elusive nature, after a few surface sequences, they swam on to other location, and so we kept moving. After a little while we came back to our pair of humpbacks who were now resting on the surface of the water. With the sun now just over the mountains, it was majestic as our individuals glided next to the reflection of the sunrise. We had another amazing viewing of our humpback pair, and they then gave us another double fluke dive. With that, we waved them goodbye and admired some of our local birdlife before heading back to port. A great morning!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Hafsulan: With plenty of sunshine and clear skies, we set sail with excitement to see who was out there this afternoon. We had really calm seas, which gave us picturesque surroundings as the snow-topped mountains were reflected on the surface of the water. As we were looking out for our cetaceans, 2 grey seals popped their head up right next to us! This was a pleasant surprise and after a little bit, they ducked their head back below the surface and swam off. As we continued onward, we spotted some blows and went to check them out. As we approached we realized we had found 2 humpback whales! This pair showed off their impressive tails right away. When they reappeared they were behind us! It appeared one individual was relaxing a bit more while the other individual was feeding. With calm seas, it was easy to track our pair as they glided along the surface of the water. After multiple surface sequences and some lovely fluke dives it was time to wave our humpbacks goodbye and head back to port. What a great way to end the day.
