CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00

Report from Eldey: The air was chilly this morning but the sea was calm and the sun bright. We had barely left the harbour as we already spotted a minke whale! We did decide to pass by this individual and go out further into the bay, in search of a more concentrated area of wildlife. We did not get disappointed as we saw 4-5 pods of white-beaked dolphins and even though most were a bit shy, we did see them leap out the water in the distance and one pod was relaxed enough for us to travel along with them for a bit. We also spotted 5 more minke whales. some of them a bit shy, but 2 of them didn't seem to mind our presence as they were busy feeding around us. We also spotted an elusive humpback whale on the tour and as after all this we did have to start heading back, we did decide to make one final stop with the first minke we saw, right next to the island Engey.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00

Report from Eldey: During the afternoon we sailed enjoying the sunny skies and the cold breeze. The visibility was great and we searched in the horizon for wildlife. It didn't take long before we spotted our first dorsal fin in the distance! A minke whale! Just a few minutes after another popped out quite close as well! We watched these minkes for a bit before we said goodbye and continued sailing a bit further out. After just 10 minutes we had another surprise - white beaked dolphins! a pod of about 6-7 individuals were swimming slowly and came super close to our boat letting us have a good look at them! Eventually it was time to head back and we sailed in the direction of Reykjavik after a great afternoon at sea.
