 TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 17:00

Report from Eldey:  Speechless!! No words can describe the beauty of this tour. Even for us who do this on a daily basis this was an incredible tour and we could not think of a better way for our second to last 5 o'clock of the season to have been. The sunset was painting the sea and sky as we simply stayed in the middle of Faxabay surrounded by probably 15 minke whales, harbour porpoises, diving gannets and a humpback whale. All in the same spot! Everyone was so awestruck by the amount of whales and the surreal beauty of the evening light that the boat was absolutely quiet. Not a word was spoken and so we could hear the gannets as they struck the water surface, the minke whales as they exhaled and especially the powerful blow of the humpback whale when it was coming towards our bow, within less than 30 meters distance. It sounds very cheesy to say, but this was enough to bring tears to your eyes.

 TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 13:00

Report from Eldey:  Sunny sailing continues! We got to enjoy the most beautiful weather as we sailed out in Faxafloi bay. After just about a half an hour of sailing, we started seeing some splashes in front of us: harbour porpoises. They were jumping around us and checking the boat out. Usually harbour porpoises are very shy and hard to spot so this was a very rare encounter, stopping and observe them properly. As we sailed on, we saw not just one but 4 minke whales in total! They were popping up  one after the other and even when we decided to sail on to check out what else we could find, we kept seeing those minke whales on the way. Such amazing encounters!  On top of these already exciting encounters we saw a pod of 4 white-beaked dolphins. They were surfacing calmly very close to us and we could even their blow reflecting the sun! On our way back we got to enjoy the beautiful scenery and since the sky was so clear we were able to see as far as the Snaefellsjökull,  an old volcano covered by a glacier at the tip of Snaefellsnes peninsula. What an excellent tour!

 TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 09:00

Report from Eldey: A beautiful morning to be outside, and even better to be at sea. Just a light breeze and little waves paired with plenty of sunshine to greet us out in the bay. Just 50 minutes out, we had a quick encounter with a minke whale, an individual that proved to be very shy as it dissappeared after only one surface. Not to worry though, as shortly after we spotted a pod of around 7 white-beaked dolphins as they were jumping through the waves. As we approached them, they began bow-riding and we could see them under water as they swam beneath our boat! We enjoyed their presence for over half an hour but then left them to search further areas of the bay. We encountered another pod of dolphins that we stayed with briefly but aimed to find more. Closer to the city, we had the cute harbour porpoises popping up here and there, which our passengers were  great at spotting !
