Tour at 13:00

We started the tour by visiting Lundey (Elding went to Akurey). There wasn´t as may puffins as the mornings visit to Akurey but there were a lot sitting outside their borrows on land. We then headed out offshore and found that the wind picked up slightly. We went to the same area where the Minkes were in the morning but most must of left as there was only one found but it surfaced very close to boat. We also saw a small pod of Harbour Porpoises which were very enjoyable to watch. As we headed back to harbour we suddenly came across a couple of Minke Whales which appeared out of nowhere and they surfaced many times, sometimes they surfaced together. Very strange to see Minkes travelling together as a pair. This tour was not as good as the morning tour as we didn´t come across the dolphins but still very enjoyable. Great day ;)

Tour at 9:00

Again the sea was like a mirror and the sun was out. Perfect whale watching conditions. We started the tour by visiting Akurey and there were thousands of Puffins sitting outside their borrows, sitting on the water’s surface and flying around the island. We then out into Faxaflói Bay and could see whales already kilometres in the distance. We first came across a pod of White-beaked Dolphins and they were great, they came towards us a couple of times and went under the boat. We stayed with these for a little while and then headed further out into the bay. We came to an area where there were many birds, Harbour Porpoises and Minke Whales. We turned the engine off to listen to nature and watch the Minkes surfacing all around us. There must of been at least  20-30 Minkes. We had such a wonderful start to the tour that we wanted to head further offshore to see if there is anything else around. We came across another couple of Minkes which we stayed with for a while. Then unfortunately we had to head home. A fantastic day.
