Tour at 13:00:

Report from Eldey: The wind had picked up a lot and it felt much colder out on the bay than yesterday. We decided to sail first towards Akranes and then turn west so we could sail with the wind further out on the bay. This gave us smoother sailing conditions. Not long after we left Akranes we spotted 2 white beaked dolphins surfacing between the swells. At first they stayed close to the surface the whole time making it easy for us to follow them. Soon they changed behavior and became more elusive and difficult to predict, until we lost them completely. We kept on going further out on the bay without any success in our search for more animals. As the only sighting of the tour were these elusive dolphins we gave all of our passengers return tickets. We hope that all of our guests will want to come out with us again in search of the whales and dolphins of Iceland!

We had a group booking for this unschedule tour that was opened up to ay other passengers that wished to join. It of course started off quite dark, however it got lighter and lighter throughout the tour. Spotting conditions were good but the wind did also pick up as the tour unfolded. Brrrrrrr! Overalls on and a warm hot chocolate in hand we were ready for an adventure. Optimism was high after the awesome sightings the day before. We searched a large area but unfortunately we were unlucky :(. The scenery and birdlife kept up our spirits but in the end we offered our passengers complimentary tickets to try again. Some even joined the 1pm excursion. That´s what I call determination.
