Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey and Hafsúlan for the 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tour. Make sure to dress according to weather, as it is usually colder at sea than on land.

Report from Eldey and Hafsulan: on the last day of the year, we sailed out to see our favorite animals one last time in 2023. The day was absolutely beautiful, the sea was calm. We still had some cold wind coming from the East, but after packing ourselves with overalls, we we ready to go! We first went to the same area where we saw a whale on the last couple of days, and before we got there we spotted a grey seal swimming by. After a couple of minutes, we spotted a big blow in the distance and there we went. Getting closer, we spotted a couple of harbour porpoises and... another blow! We surprisingly realized we had 2 humpback whales in the area! We decided to stick with one of them first, that while it went for deeper dives, it was very shy-fluke, not showing it at all. To compensate, this one popped up in different spots in less than 2 min, so fast and active! Then, we decided to check the other whale, and according to the fluke of this one, we saw it was the same that we have been seeing lately. What a  beautiful sighting. Both of the whales popped up so close sometimes, allowing us to listen to the very loud blow when surfacing. The day was gorgeous, the mountains all covered in snow, the sunset was perfect. What a great way to end our 2023.

We were all very grateful for all the wildlife in Faxaflói and the great and excited passengers we had over the year on these adventures with us. We wish you an amazing year and we hope to see many more whales and happy passengers in 2024!
