CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: We set out on a gorgeous sunny morning, excited for our adventure in Faxaflói Bay. The scenery was stunning and about an hour in, we spotted some blows in the distance. As we got closer, we saw dorsal fins breaking the surface—about five minke whales were hanging out in the area! There were also a lot of birds swooping down, all of them feasting together. It was such a cool scene! Then we noticed a bigger blow and decided to check it out. It turned out to be a humpback whale surfacing slowly, occasionally fluking as it dove back down. We couldn’t believe how close the minkes were, popping up right beside us at the sime time! Eventually, we figured it was time to head back to the harbor. We sailed away with huge smiles back to the harbour.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR I 13:00

Report from Eldey: The seas were calm and the sun was shining bright as we set sail this afternoon. This tour turned unexpectedly in an incredible adventure where we spotted a pair of humpback whales swimming and fluke diving alongside each other. To everyone's delight, they surfaced very close to our boat multiple times as well. We also spotted 3 minke whales during the tour, one off which swam by right in front of us! Once again however, the humpback whale Davy Jones II stole the show today. He approached our vessel multiple times and right as we thought we had seen it all, he breached no less than 5 times in a big semi circle around us! This was an incredible way to end our afternoon at sea and just as we decided to return to port, he treated us to a pec slap as if he was waving us goodbye. What a day!
