Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: We sailed out from Hafnarfjörður for our second tour of the day. The seas were rather calm even though it was a bit windy. As the tour progressed the weather changed every 20 minutes or so. We got some snow, hail, fog and sleet. We didn't see any cetaceans on this tour either, but on our way into the harbour we did see a few northern gannets plunge into the water at some distance. We decided to sail closer and see if there were any animals feeding with the birds. They must have been else where feeding since we didn't see them there. The gannets were really lovely and a good end to our sailing. All pasengers were given a complimentary ticket and will hopefully use their chance of a second trip with us at another time.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan: Today we sailed out into some choppy waters. But after we got further west the sailing was much better even though it was still windy. Even though there wasn't much life in the bay we did see a few interesting birds and we were followed by some Fullmars and kittiwakes. The fog covering the landscape early on in the tour lifted for a while so we got a good view over the Reykjanes peninsula for a while. We then decided to end our tour in Hafnarfjörður. Since we didn't see any cetaceans this time around we handed out our complimentary tickets and hope to see all our passengers again soon.

Birds seen on today's tour include: Northern gannets, Eider ducks, Black guillemots, Fulmars, Iceland gulls and Kittiwakes.
