CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00

Report from Eldey :

We set sail on a beautiful morning, full of energy and excitement for our big tour. The weather was perfect, with a clear sky and long, gentle swells making for a lovely journey. After 35 minutes of sailing, we noticed a flurry of activity among the birds. Suddenly, in the distance, we spotted several humpback whales blowing water into the air. It was a magnificent sight. One whale, in particular, caught our attention as it was accompanied by 3-4 white-beaked dolphins. They seemed to be playing and feeding together, riding the waves in harmony. It was an absolutely beautiful tour, and an unforgettable experience.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 11:00

Report from Hafsulan: We sailed off with barely any wind and slow, calm waves. Today we saw no less than 4 humpback whales! Three of them were all around the same area and we could stay with them for quite some time, one of them even surfacing multiple times very close to the boat. On our way back we were surprised by the 4th individual, surfacing in front of the boat. After spending a short while with this one, we continued our way back to port. At this point it did start raining, but this was no matter as we could stay warm and cosy inside while enjoying a hot chocolate!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey : The tour started under a pouring rain, but fortunately the swell was mild and the wind was blowing gently. The rain did not prevent us from finding two very active humpback whales, feeding and diving just a few hundred meters from one another. They were both surfacing for a few breaths rather close to our boat, and then diving again, raising their fluke high above the water for the greatest pleasure of our eyes. One of the whales was Hooker, an individual we had already identified in previous tours and previous seasons. At some point the rain stopped to offer us the beautiful sighting of an horizontal rainbow mist towards Akranes, and incredible phenomenon. We sailed back to Reykjavik under the sun, and with very happy passengers.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 1500

Report from Hafsulan: We sailed out in a calm bay of Faxafloi. We wanted to check out an area in which there were a few humpback whales earlier today. We were not disappointed. Overall we encountered about 6 humpback whales that were quite active and seemingly feeding. They kept surfacing very close to our boat. Amazing encounter.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 17:00

Report from Eldey: Sailing out this late afternoon, we were lucky to escape the rain and head straight into a cludy but sunny sea. Very quickly, our first blows appeared and we knew that we were on for a show: with over 6 humpback whales through the tour, 2 of them stood out, slowly resting and breathing, barely noticing us. One of them, known by us as Hook, slowly went away as we follow its colleague. This one stayed with us until the very end, slowly feeding and even breaching. With over 6 minke whales feeding around us, we got to stay with this individual for over an hour, before it fluke dived goodbye to us, leaving us with a great tour to remember.
