CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 0900

Report from Eldey: We sailed out onto Faxaflói bay in search of whales and dolphins in almost perfect weather. Overcast but dry with a slight breeze from the east. After a short while, we came across an area with a lot of birds active at work. We payed close attention since this is often a sign for cetaceans near by. 3 minke whales actively feeding and rolling showed that the birds where right again. Quick as they are, the minke whales disappeared after a short while, but 1 humpback whale was also close by and so we stayed with him for a while as he showed us some nice rolls and fluke dives. We returned to the harbour with some great pictures taken and all around happy guests.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 1300

Report from Eldey: We set off again this afternoon in search of the great humpback from this morning. Then right on cue less than 40 minutes into the tour we could see the blow ahead of us from this humpback whale. Then a few minutes later we were up closer and getting a great showing. This individual was lunge feeding, rolling and going for many fluke dives. It was a great show! We then searched for other wildlife and saw many Atlantic puffins. Before heading back to the harbour we had a quick look at our humpback friend again.
