  • CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 9:00, 13:00

Today's whale watching tours from Reykjavík are on schedule. Remember to dress according to weather and feel free to borrow our thermal overalls if needed!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 0900

Report from Eldey: WOW. What a morning! We were greeted by the most incredible sunrise—think sunbeams bursting through the clouds, making the ocean look like it was on fire! Seriously, it was like the sea was showing off. Couldn’t have asked for a better start. We set sail toward Hafnafjordur, and just as we were approaching the harbor, we spotted not one, but 3 harbor porpoises! They were speedy little guys, zipping in and out of the water like they had somewhere important to be. We only got a couple of quick glimpses, but hey, they weren’t whale we were hoping for—so we kept our eyes peeled. And then... the moment we’d all been waiting for. 2 humpback whales feeding together right as we neared the harbor! These massive beauties were lunge feeding, their mouths wide open, scooping up everything in sight like they hadn’t had breakfast in days. And surrounding them? A flock of northern gannets, diving in and out of the water like they were auditioning for a synchronized swimming team. Talk about a whale of a show! Everyone was just in awe. The energy on board was electric—we were all hooked! It’s not every day you get to see these magnificent creatures up close. It was definitely a "whale" of a time, and no one wanted it to end.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR I 13:00

Report from Eldey: What a great afternoon!  We sailed on toward Hafnafjordur once more with high hopes. As we got near the harbor—the moment we’d been waiting for arrived: two magnificent humpback whales! They were feeding together, lunging at the water with mouths wide open, scooping up everything in sight like they hadn’t eaten in ages. To make the scene even more magical, a group of northern gannets was diving into the water with such precision, it felt like a coordinated show. The energy on board was electric as everyone marveled at the beauty of these creatures. It truly felt like the ocean was putting on a performance just for us. As the time ran out we started our journey back to the harbour with a big smile in our faces!
