CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00
Report from Eldey: This morning we set sail into faxafloi to see what we would find! There was a gorgeous sunrise before we set sail, with orange and pinks filling the sky! There was a bit of swell on the way out but the captain tried to keep the boat nice and steady for all of us aboard. After a long sail we spotted a blow of a humpback whale! we saw the blow a few times as well as a fluke dive! In this tour our patience was truly tested as the whale took quite long dives as well. While we waited for it to come back up, we watched the Northern gannets dive around us. It came up again and showed off its beautiful fluke, making the whole boat gasp together! We watched as long as we could but sadly had to start returning home. On the way home we managed to see one minke whale as well! This was a very cute and curious individual and a lovely end to the tour!

Report from Eldey:
The weather was quite nice as we started heading out into the bay, the waves were a little bumpy though, but still fine. Not more than 10 minutes in, we found our first species - 4 harbor porpoises. They're quite shy, so we only saw them a few times. Then they and we kept going further out. Unfortunately we didn't see anything else, so we checked the main areas and then headed back to the harbor. And just as we thought, a tour without a whale, we found a minke whale close to the harbor. It was surfacing very often, so we could see it very nicely ! :) What a great ending to the whale watching tour.
