Tour at 20:30

Report from Elding: At Akurey on the way out it was the same as it was on the tour before, only few Puffins around and it was rather difficult with the whales as well to begin with. Perfect weather, calm sea and so peaceful. We had to search for a long time and go really far out to find the whales. First we spotted at least two Minke Whales and then a large pod of White-beaked Dolphins. They were swimming really fast heading out of the bay. We stayed with them for as long as we could but eventually we had to turn around to get back on time.

Tour at 17:00

Report from Hafúlan: We desisted to visit Akurey the Puffin island on the way back this time. During this tour we spotted several different Minke Whales. The first one was right below a flock of feeding birds, surface feeding again and again so amazing to watch. And the others were little bit further out all in the same spot feeding as well. On the way back we first stopped by Akurey to see the Puffins, but only few of them were flying around the island therefore we went over to Lundey. It was pretty much the same over there few flying around and some Black-Guillamots as well. Then on the way back to the harbour we spotted a pod of Harbour Porpoises.

Tour at 14:00

Report from Elding: We started by visiting the puffins at Akurey. Not many to see at the island but few sitting at the surface around the island and we saw few also when searching for the whales. Than we sailed out to Faxaflói bay in a beautiful and calm weather. Very soon we spotted two minke whales, but they were quite difficult and disappeared soon. So we headed on and after a while we spotted a minke whale again and after a while we were seeing lots of them around us, sometimes 3 -4 at the same time. Some further away, some closer and one surfaced only 3 meters away! In total we were looking at least 15 minke whales. And on the way home we spotted few Gannets flying around us. Great tour!

Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafúlan: Again we found the basking shark but it didn't stay up very long and disappeared so we stopped by the puffin island and then we sailed out to Faxaflói. The minke whales were a bit difficult to get close to in the beginning but then we found 3-4 very nice minke whales witch came very close so we could have a good look at them. One pod of harbour porpoises crossed our path but only for a short while. On the way back to the harbour we spotted the basking shark again. BIG BONUS today, the basking shark. Fantastic tour.

Tour at 10:00

Report from Elding: First stop was Akurey to see the Puffins. We didn't see many on the island but many were sitting at the surface around it and also out on the bay while whale watching. When we turned around to head out to Faxaflói bay we spotted a Baskin shark. The dorsal fin is so big on them and it was moving very slowly in the water so we could see it very well. Great beginning and even better when we got further out. First Minke Whale we spotted was only 5 meters away surfacing twice so we could even see the side flippers and the fluke and the area there was so great we had Minke Whales all around us 8 of them surfacing right in front of us all at the same time and there must have been over 30 that we spotted during the trip, some very close and others further away. When leaving the Minke Whales we also spotted a calm pod of Harbour Porpoises.

Tour at 9:00

Report from Hafúlan: What a brilliant beginning of this tour. We spotted a basking shark, the second biggest FISH found in the world. It came so close that we could see it very clearly, swimming slowly with open mouth, filtering the water. Absolutely fantastic. Out in the bay 6-8 minke whales surfaced very close to the boat and many more much further away. On the way back we spotted shortly a pod of harbour porpoises fast swimming. Awesome tour.
