Tour Status: RUNNING
Tour at 13:00
Report from Eldey: So it turns out that Christmas is just running a little late. The wind had picked up just a bit more than yesterday so it was a rocky ride for us today. We did stay very close to the Reykjavík peninsula though, so we were sheltered for most parts of our trip. Just as we left the harbour walls, we were already greeted by 3 harbour porpoises popping up for 3 surfaces. Since they are an elusive species, we didn't stop for them but rather kept going to Hafnafjödur, the area where we saw a humpback whale yesterday. Gladly we did because it did stay the night and gave us a spectacular tour. It was so relaxed around the boats and showed up so close to us numerous times. Despite the rain our passengers were outside and just didn't want to miss a minute of this close encounter. Seeing a 17 meter whale come within only 30 meters of our boat is definitely something you will remember for the rest of your life.
