CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Eldey: Today the weather was mild, offshore wind and no rain, so we were sure that there wasn't going to be wavy at all. As we were sailing out of the harbour, a couple of blows were seen in the distance, close to the cruise ship harbour's red buoy. Getting closer, we noticed that it was 2 humpback whales going up and down in the water column. It was Banana and its buddy once again. These whales have been here for more than a month! We approached them carefully, with the wind helping us, and we drifted alongside them. They came close quite a few times, as they are used to our presence. We saw a few fluke dives before searching around for more marine life. There were loads of cool birds flying around, including Northern gannets and juvenile red-throated loons! At the end of the loop, we met those two gentle giants again. One of them went on the side for a bit, greeting the other one. One fluke after the other, we left them be, went around Engey and back to the harbour!
