Tour at 17:00: CANCELLED

Tour at 13:00

Report from Elding; Departure from Keflavik with weather ranging from calm and sunny to hailing and windy. For most of the tour we were able to enjoy large flocks of northern gannets feeding on the water. About an hour and a half into the tour, we spotted a pair of humpback whales, about 150 meters away from the boat. We managed to approach the cetaceans a bit more and got nice pictures of them. After a while, the whales became a bit more elusive and did not resurface, so we eventually made our way back to the Keflavik harbour after this very enjoyable encounter.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Elding: Departure from Keflavik due to better sea conditions and a more sheltered area than our normal departure area in Reykjavik. On our way out, we spotted several species of seabirds, including northern fulmars, northern gannets, black-legged kittiwakes, atlantic puffins and shearwaters. We were able to enjoy the beautiful landscape along the north side of the Reykjaness peninsula and parts of Snæfellsnes were also visible at times throughout the excursion. Unfortunately we did not see any cetaceans on this tour, so we provided our passengers with complementary tickets.

Bird species seen on today's tour includes: Atlantic puffin, black legged kittiwake, lesser black-backed gull, northern fulmar, northern gannet, manx shearwater and common guillemot.
