Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: Lovely conditions expected us this afternoon with blue sky, a lot of sun and only a little wind. The sea was beautifully calm and it took us less than an hour to spot our first cetaceans. We encountered two great pods of white-beaked dolphins, 3-4 and 5-6 individuals strong, but saw many more dorsal fins all around us in the distance. The dolphins were quite scattered and we saw them a few times super close, feeding and even breaching multiple times about 100 meters away. A great start to the tour, we spent roughly half an hour with these fun creatures before we took a circle around the bay. We briefly saw 2-3 harbour porpoises and continued our search. Then we saw a small blow in the distance and it turned out to be a minke whale and we got to see it very close a few times. Very happy to have seen so many different species today, we returned to the old harbour of Reykjavik. A great afternoon out.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: It was a beautiful sunny day as we set sail into faxafloi. The sea was very calm and the wind not too strong. After a short search we found our first cetaceans of the day a small pod of 3-4 white-beaked dolphins popped up out of the surf and surfaced a few times for us, coming up lovely and slowly. They then went for a longer dive so it was decided to move out further into the bay to search for some other animals. After only a 5 minute search another pod of 5-6 white-beaked dolphins were spotted just a few meters away, these animals surfaced very nicely but they became a bit elusive and went for a long dive so again we moved on. After another short search yet another pod of 5 dolphins were found and what a wonderful pod they were. They surfaced beautifully slowly and very close to the boat and even swam right underneath it! The water was so incredibly clear today you could follow them right under the waters surface! What a dolphin-tastic tour!

We are sailing out from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik on this beautiful but cold day. There is little to no wind and hopefully the sun will be with us all day. On board there are heated indoor areas but we also have overalls to keep you warm out on deck. Hope you are able to join us on the search of these magnificent animals in their natural environment
