Tour at 13:00
Report from Hafsúlan: Today we departed from Hafnarfjörður as that is where we left the boat yesterday and we decided to use the trip to bring it back to Reykjavik as the forecast for the weekend seems to allow tours from there and hopefully that will not change. This was the first really snowy day of the winter and all was beautifully covered in white, including the surrounding mountains which certainly gave us something to admire. It was cold and rather windy but the water surface was ok and allowed for good spotting opportunities due to the overcast sky. We first went to the west, then turned north, and crossed some of our most prospective areas. We did see a common seal popping its head up at one point and plenty of birds but sadly no whales, dolphins, or porpoises. As a result, all passengers were offered complimentary return tickets so that they can return to us for another whale-watching tour free of charge within the next two years.

Birds seen on today's tour include: northern gannet, black-backed gulls, iceland gull, glaucus gull, eider ducks, common guillemots, kittiwakes, and lots of cormorants.
