Tour at 13:00

Soon after we left the harbour we spotted something far away. When we came closer we saw it was a pad of white-beaked dolphins. They were very nice but the second pod we found was even better. This group was fantastic, surfacing all around us and we could see them quite well. Further out we spotted some minke whales, but they were very shy, or at least diving for a long time and only surfacing one time before diving again. So quite difficult minke whales. On our way back to the harbour we spotted a pod of harbour porpoises. They were very nice, came quite close to the boat, surfacing many times. On the way back to the harbour we visited the puffin island but unfortunately there were not so many puffins on, and around, the island Akurey today.

Tour at 09:00

The weather was very nice when we sailed out this morning. It took us a very long time finding the whales. After searching for quite some time we finally spotted some minke whales. There were at least two in the area but we only followed one for a while. The whale surfaced many times about 60-70 meters away from the boat. Then we spotted some splashes in the distance. We headed towards this area and on the way there a small pod of harbour porpoises crossed our path. When we got closer we saw there were lots of white-beaked dolphins in the area surfacing again and again and we spent the rest of the time with them. So all together very nice tour.

Birds seen on the tour: Fulmars, gannets, puffins, and guillemots.
