Today we will be operating on Þruma RIB for our 10:00, 14:00 and 16:00 Premium Whale tours and on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 09:00 and 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tours. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

COVID-19: Keep in mind that passengers and crew are asked to ensure their own hygiene and safety at all times. Washing hands thoroughly with soap and using a hand sanitiser is advised.  

Report from Eldey: We sailed out this morning with barely any wind but some long swell. After about an hour of sailing we saw a blow in the distance! It was a humpback whale! This individual was logging and very calm and after some time together we spotted another blow and decided to have a closer look! In total wesaw 3 humpback whales and as we saw the third one we also saw a pod of 6-7 white beaked dolphins! They popped up right in front of the boat and were likely feeding. Then as time ran out we headed back to harbour and on the way back saw a bigger pod of 6-8 harbour porpoises! They can be quite tricky to spot and were feeding as well.

Report from Hafsulan: We started the tour with an incredibly calm day. The ocean was quite calm and we had a very bright sun. Was the summer already here?? We headed off the harbor and it took us quite some time until we finally got to see 5 white beaked dolphins!! We couldn't spend much time with them as they were moving fast. After some time we were told there was a humpback whale in the area. We got closer to her and wow! It got really close to the boat and we could even see it's fluke! We took some pictures and realize it was one we had already identified. It was Davy Jones II. On our way back there was a sneaky minke whale passing by the boat. We were running late on time so we decided to continue as this individual was quite elusive and we could tell it was traveling fast.

Report from Eldey: Today we had a beautiful sunny day with just a bit of clouds in the distance and a small breeze. The sea was calm with a lot of glare from the sun. But finally after a hour, we found 2 pods of 5 to 7 white beaked dolphins each on both sides of Eldey. Some of them actually jumping out of the water but most were milling. After a while with these cute creatures we set another course towards land to find a humpback whale we had been told about by another boat. It gave us some amazing fluke dives. It was Davy Jones II again! Half an hour later we had to go to harbour because we were running out of time but we struck luck by spotting a minke whale casually diving on the port side of the vessel, which was awesome!
