TOUR ON SCHEDULE|  19:00

Report from Elding: The wind had picked up a bit during the day so we had some strong northernly winds but it was still sunny and beautiful outside. We stumbled upon about 4 minke whales, a couple of them came within 50 metres of our boat and we got a very nice look at them! After a while we found a big flock of northern gannets lunge feeding in the same spot and we went straight to that area where we found a very large pod of around 15-20 white-beaked dolphins! About 6 of them swam right up to us with their babies and went underneath our boat and back! It was so amazing and ofcourse the wonderful sunset and landscape made this tour just perfect!

TOUR ON SCHEDULE|  17:00

Report from Eldey: Incredible what we had today, the wind was blowing but it was not too cold. We sailed out to Faxafloi Bay heading towards Akranes with the emotion to find those beautiful sharks tha we saw before. After half an hour we were exactly at the same area and we did not wait to long until we spotted in total 6 minke whales, easily we could follow two of them. Just in front of us we saw some splasesh and who we found it? Of course a pod of 5 white-beaked dolphins jumping out of the water. We thought that after the dolphins we could still looking the minke whales, but one big blow paid our attention. We had a look and the largest cetacean that we have in the bay just appeared in front of us 1 humpback whale. After saw the fluke of this huge animal a couple of time we headed back to the harbour. I can discribe this day just in one word AMAZING.

TOUR ON SCHEDULE|  14:00

Report from Elding: Rough seas, but a beautiful clear sky and sunshine was accompanying our tour this afternoon. We took shelter from the wind, staying closer to land, while heading out into the bay. Heading roughly in the same direction as on the previous tour, it took a little more than an hour to come across the first animals. It was 2 minke whales, surfacing repeatedly around the boat. Even though it was not the easiest task to get a good picture of those whales, our passengers managed to get a good look at them nevertheless. We also managed to track down one of the basking sharks, that we saw earlier today. This animal came quite close to the boat again and we could clearly see it's impressive dorsal fin and the tail coming up above the surface. Once we turned back towards Reykjavík, we could enjoy the sunshine in our faces, while the waves were gently rocking the boat, making everyone feel a little bit sleepy on the way back.

TOUR ON SCHEDULE|  13:00

Report from Eldey: The good meteorological conditions continued throughout this tour. We headed to the same spot where we were on the last tour. The minke whale that we saw on the way was a bit shy and only surfaced really fast a couple of times. We sailed forward and soon spotted one of the basking sharks from before. We saw two of them on this tour , but there were moments where the animal passed 0 meters away from us; an opportunity for all aboard to have a fantastic sighting of this gentle giant. A little girl exclaiming: "This is the best day of my life!" was definitely a sign of success on this tour. We observed the minke whales a couple of times after that as well, but then it was time to slowly start heading back to Reykjavik. What a tour!

TOUR ON SCHEDULE|  10:00

Report from Elding:

The weather was beautiful and sunny, but we had quite strong northernly winds, making the sea a little rough. But that didn’t stop us from finding some awesome animals! We spotted a pod of about 4-5 white-beaked dolphins, and we stayed with them for a few minutes before heading to an area where we had a big flock of feeding birds, there we spotted a minke whale, and between 4-6 basking sharks!! The sharks even came up to the boat and swam underneath us, it was such an amazing experience! This was a wonderful start to the day!

TOUR ON SCHEDULE|  09:00

Report from Eldey: Blue skies greeted us again. There was a bit of wind from the northeast, but nothing we couldn't handle. We saw very soon 5 basking sharks lazily swimming on the surface and these giant fish definitely made the tour. We also had about 4 minke whales popping up all around us and showing us that they are much faster animals then the sharks. A unique and remarkable tour that will for sure not be forgotten that easily both from the passengers and as well the crew.
