Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: When we sailed back out to Faxaflói we were greeted by a pod of Harbour porpoises. They came quite close to us but once we stopped the boat they all went down for deep dives. We continued our journey and it wasn't long until we ran into a Minke Whale. We saw the Minke whale surfacing a few times before it disappeared again so we left for other sights. We soon met a group of White-beaked Dolphins that seamed to be feeding in a group of 4-6. They would jump out of the water on after another and swim rapidly around the boat. On our way back we ran into another Minke Whale. There was a bit more wind in the afternoon but the day was still very beautiful and the bay was, again, filled with exciting sights.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan: We were very surprised this morning to have a covering of snow. It was crisp as we headed offshore and everyone wore one of our overalls we provide free of charge. There was a lot of food in the bay this morning so we were very opportunistic about our chances. We saw 2-3 small pods of Harbour Porpoises, 4-5 Minke Whales in different areas included two of our regular visitors to the bay, Pearl and Midi whom are 2 Minke Whales we have been observing since 2008. We even got a wonderful encounter of 3-5 White-beaked Dolphins that played around the boat for a while. It was a cold but beautiful morning out in the bay with snow covered hills and mountains.
