We will be opporating out from Grindavik tomorrow, taking our passengers by bus from the old harbour to Grindavik. Please add an extra 11/2 to 2 hours to your whale watching tour tomorrow to account for bus transfers. We got word of a lot of whales there from the fishman so we would like to go check it out. Hope you join us.
Status: RUNNING
We are sailing out from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik. The forecast predicts some wind from the east so there will be some swell and a little movement on the boat.
Tour at 13:00
Report from Eldey: It was windier now than on the morning tour so we had more white caps around from breaking waves. It had cleared up so it felt warmer now with the sun shining. Early on the tour we spotted 3-4 harbour porpoises, they were only seen few times when they surfaced close to our boat before they disappeared. Far out on the bay we found huge flocks of birds, there we slowed down to have a good look for cetaceans. We were hoping to find the humpback whale that we saw on the morning tour. Unfortunately we never found the humpback or any other cetaceans on the tour and for that reason we offered everyone on board a ticket to come on another tour.

Tour at 09:00
Report from Eldey: It was a rather overcast morning but as the tour progressed the clouds cleared. We could see all the beautiful landscape and there was very little wind so the sea was like a mirror, however there was some high but long swell but most passengers enjoyed it. The wildlife was in abundance this morning with harbour porpoises everywhere. Throughout the tour we must have seen at least 20 individuals scattered in all areas of the bay. We also had a very nice visit from a humpback whale, however, this was a very grumpy humpie as it went for more than 20 minute dives and only did 2 very quick surfaces with no tail (fluke). We couldn´t keep waiting for the humpback so we searched further out in the bay. The birdlife was wonderful, really nice to see so much this morning.
