CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00
Report from Eldey: Beautiful day with partially covered sky but sill some nice sun, little wind and a calm sea even if with some swell. We headed toward the south of the bay were the humpbacks were seen yesterday and after maybe an hour looking for them we spotted there blows. They were 2 humpback whales, Mariupol and Sooty going for occasionnal deep dives showing the tail, sometimes surfacing super close of our vessel. We stayed a while and continued trying to see if we could spot somethig else. We saw a blow coming from the distance. We got closer and could see two more humpback whales, Neila and a new individual. They were surrounded by 6-7 white-beaked dolphins that seemed to be interested by the humpbacks, maybe trying to steal some fish from those feeding whales. Neila as often came to greet swimming only a few meters from the bow. After a last fluke dive we left them to go back to the harbour. Wonderful morning.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Eldey: The swell calmed down since the morning and we had a beautiful sunlight shining over the bay today. When we reached an area with a large flock of seabirds we knew we had reached a good spot and this was confirmed by the splashes of jumping dolphins and many blows all around. We first wanted to see the 4-5 white-beaked dolphins, but when we reached them they had stopped jumping and were diving quite long. We decided to pursue the whales that were creating those large blows and we found in total 5 humpbacks in the wider area. All the humpback whales that we saw were individuals we know very well: Mariupol, Sooty, and Neila and Pep together. We followed each of them for some time, but after Neila and Pep split up it was Pep who came to the surface most frequently. Sometimes she came up right next to the boat, and at one point she was briefly on her side and showed us her pectoral fin. In the meantime we were also keeping our eyes on two pods of around 5 white-beaked dolphins, and we of course kept seeing the blows of the other individuals all around us – an amazing day with a bay full of life!
