Tour at 13:00
Due to rough conditions at sea we have cancelled the tour this afternoon.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan: we figured from the weather forecast that we would be able to do the morning tour before the storm would hit us around noon and so we did, even if the water got choppier as the morning passed. We began by searching alongside land, up towards the town of Akranes, partially as we have often had sightings there and partially in order to seek shelter. As we had begun heading away from land, Captain Vignir spotted a small group (4-6) of white-beaked dolphins that seemed to be feeding. Above them were some circling black-legged kittiwakes and northern fulmars, hoping to collect a share. It was difficult to approach the dolphins because of the sea conditions but for the 5 minutes or so that we enjoyed their presence, we could see them quite well. Then we continued searching but with the wind ever on the increase, we deemed that the tour could be no longer than until 12, which is the natural finishing time in any case. Yes, we have had easier tours for sure, but the passengers seemed content with the adventure actually, judging by the smiles and thank-you's at the exit, which made it worth the effort.
