  • CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 9:00, 13:00

Todays Whale Watching Tours from Reykjavík are on schedule.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: Our tour started with a cool offshore breeze and no waves at sea. We sailed past Grótta heading to a place where we'd been lucky the previous days. After about an hour of searching, we came across a feeding event! There we could see loads of Northern gannets plunge diving into the water and a few grey seals feeding on the scraps left by these amazing birds. No whales were seen in this place so we did a big turn out to the middle of the bay. Not too long after that, a blow was seen! It belonged to a humpback whale! We were super lucky with this one as it continued at the surface before giving us the fluke. We could tell it was Pongo, a known individual that tends to stay near the shore. It carried on doing these dives and after a while, we left to go back to the harbour.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 1300

Report from Eldey: We started this tour in the afternoon by searching close to Videy and Engey. After looking here we headed further out into the bay to see what was around. After a bit of looking we found a pod of 5 white beaked dolphins! They seemed to be resting - moving quite slowly. They swam really close to us a few times giving everyone a good look. They then vanished so we carried on. We saw 2 harbour porpoises. We then started to head back to the harbour. Due to the quick sightings we decided to give out complimentary tickets to everyone so they can come back and hopefully have the chance to spend longer watching cetaceans.
