Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan and Elding: Though the sea conditions in the morning were unfavourable we headed out in the afternoon, there was still some swell in the water which made the first part of the tour a rollercoaster ride. The rollercoaster soon became the least exciting part if the tour as we came across our first White-Beaked Dolphins, this pod wasn´t very big and looked like they were trying to find some food. After spending some time with this pod we saw some dolphins jumping further away so we decided to investigate, these dolphins had found a lot of fish! Then the tour became amazing, this feeding ground was populated with 50-70 White-Beaked Dolphins and hundreds of Kittiwakes all feeding on several large groups of fish. As the dolphins were feeding they were also jumping and swimming all around the boat. It was a fantastic tour with perfect dolphins. Everyone left with a big smile today!

Birds seen on todays tour include: Kittiwakes, Black-Backed Gulls, Glaucous Gulls, Northern Fulmars, Iceland Gulls, Eider Ducks, Shags.

Unfortunately due to unfavourable sea conditions we have decided to cancel the 9am morning whale watching today. Decision regarding the 1pm tour will be made later on in the day. Please call +354 519 5000, send us an email at elding@elding.is or stop by our office for more information or if you have any problems.
