All whale watching tours are on schedule today from Reykjavík! Remember to dress according to weather and feel free to borrow our thermal overalls if needed!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Hafsulan: We had such an amazing start to the day, we sailed out with the sun still rising slowy, making the sky above the city look orange and above the sea look pink. The moon was glowing as well. Maybe 15min of sailing went past and we spotted a minke whale, this one had quite a bit of speed to it. First it came up a few times and then was pretty much swimming next to us guiding us in a way. Then (!) a humpback whale appeared, which meant we had the minke diving on our right and the humpback straight ahead of us. This one was clearly resting, taking its sweet time at the surface as well as below. We saw its fluke as well a few times but then decided to take a little sail and not disturb it too much. Before heading back to the harbour we stopped at the humpback again. It was still resting and came extremely close a few times so we could see its pectoral fins through the water. We enjoyed this calm humpback for a bit before eventually headed back to harbour.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Hafsulan: This afternoon it felt like a summers day (except the cold air) as we sailed out. The skies were clear and blue and the seas calm and we were eager to go out again. We sailed around a bit, enjoying the mountains and hot chocolates and then found an elusive minke whale! It had quite a bit of speed to it but was coming up regularly in-front of the boat. We decided to leave the minke to not overstay our welcome and actually found a humpback whale in the same spot we'd been searching! This one was still resting again, so its likely it was down each time we had a look! Each time it did come up it would show us its gorgeous fluke, also confirming that this whale is the same one seen the last few days named Banana! We stayed a little while before heading back to harbour.
