CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: Finally, today the winds had eased off after the stormy days the last few days. We headed out onto fairly calm seas, with the sun on our faces. It didn't take us too long to spot a blow in the distance. After that, we saw one after another! Soon we had seen 5 humpback whales! They were spread out but we could see all the blows around us, some closer and some in the distance. We spent most of the tour with one of the whales that was feeding amongst a large flock of birds. It came really close to the boat a couple of times and we could see its whole body through the water! At some points, we were surrounded by diving gannets as well. On our way back in to the harbour, we found one of the other humpbacks we had seen earlier a few times before we had to continue on back to Reykjavik. An incredible tour!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report form Eldey: We went out on Faxafloí bay in sunshine and with a bit of a breeze from the north.  About half an hour into the tour we sighted 1 minke whale in a distance, but it was moving very fast and we lost sight of it after it surfaced two times. After this promising start, we continued our search until our first mate Oliver sighted a blow in the distance. We approached the location where 3 humpback whales were active at the surface. We spent a good amount of time with them and our captain did his best to position the boat just right in the wind to give us the best view on these beautiful animals. We returned to port after a great afternoon on the bay.
