Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 09:00 and 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tours. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

COVID-19: Keep in mind that passengers and crew are asked to ensure their own hygiene and safety at all times. Washing hands thoroughly with soap and using a hand sanitizer is advised. 

Report from Eldey: This morning the sky was covered in heavy dark clouds, the sea was quite calm and pleasant and the wind cold but not strong. We left the harbour and..almost immediatly crossed the path of 15 are more white-beaked dolphins that were travelling quickly toward Esja. They were porpoising and doing small jumps out of the water to increase there speed. We followed them and could see them from the distance until they turned a bit maybe catching some fish. Then we saw them swimming on our left with individuals coming a couple of times close to our vessel. One of the dolphins showed us how acrobatic they can be doing big leaps out of the water with a funny twirl finishing the jump on its back. We left and went further out trying to find something else and had to be patient to find a minke whale that surfaced three or four times non far from us before disappearing. We were running out of time so we headed back to the harbour.

Report from Eldey: This afternoon we were still surrounded by clouds and rain, but the swell had dropped and I always like a moody afternoon. Just as I was putting my warm overall on to head upstairs - the boat turned...A minke whale just outside the harbour! This was a very nice individual that we could see clearly a few times. We finally decided to head out into the bay and see what it had to offer. A little bit further out we saw 4 harbour porpoises. They continued with their life´s porpoise (feeding) and vanished again. When we got further out we saw lots of flocks of birds and went to investigate but with no luck. Eventually we ran out of time and headed back to harbour.
