Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: The weather stayed just as lovely through out the day. We didn't sail for long before we ran into our well known Minke Whale, Humpy. It came close to the boat, like it usually does, and surfaced by the boat a few times. After getting a good look we carried on our journey and found a group of Harbor Porpoises feeding in a pod. They didn't seem to mind us watching as they fed and they surrounded the boat for a while. We left the pod still feeding and sailed to find 5-8 White-Beaked Dolphins that jumped out of the water and stayed close to the boat for a while. We left them to sail back to Reykjavík but before we reached the harbour we ran into another similar sized pod of the White-Beaked Dolphins. A truly lovely day in a beautiful bay.

Tour at 9:00

Report from Hafsúlan: The weather was just beautiful as we headed out this morning, the sea was calm and although it was cloudy the sun shined through in a few places. After sailing for about an hour we saw a pod of 5-8 White-beaked Dolphins which were sleeping! we got a good look at them and soon they woke up and started swimming under the boat so we got a beautiful view at them. After a good time with the dolphins we decided to head further out to find something more, wild life didn't disappoint us there! We found 4 Minke Whales that were feeding along with 10-15 Harbour Porpoises. We watched them for a good while before we headed back to the harbour. What a great morning encounter of the wild life in Faxaflói bay. - Freydís Ósk
