CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Elding: It was a beautiful sunny day when we left the harbour, but the conditions changed and it became colder during the tour with the wind picking up and clouds covering the sky. With the wind in the back of the boat it was still pleasant to be outside during the tour, specially covered with a overall. We quickly spotted a blow and approached it to see a humpback whale, the same that was in this area yesterday. We could see beautiful fluke dive of the animal, specially once when it changed direction and came close to the boat. We were observing the humpback when we spotted non far another species, a minke whale was behind us. We could see it surfacing a few times and go away. Also in the area we quickly spotted 2-4 harbour porpoises surfacing for a few seconds. We did a tour near Grótta but we did not see anything else so we came back to the harbour.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Elding: Today we set off with high spirits even though we were faced with rain and wind! We stayed close to the coast on our way out and soon encountered a humpback whale! This individual showed his fluke twice and took long dives in-between. As we were enjoying its company, the sun came out! We decided to move on and see what else we could find and spotted white beaked dolphins jumping in the distance! As we approached we realised it was 3-4 pods so you could see dolphins in each direction! At first they calmed down with our arrival but quickly resumed jumping again. It was a wonderful interaction, as they came quite close to the boat as well! We still enjoyed the dolphins on our return journey to the harbour, perfect for the end of the day!
