Tour at 17:00

Cancelled due to worsening weather conditions :-(

Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúla: The weather was still rough out there, but fortunately the wind was coming from the best direction possible so we got some shelter from the land. We saw several minke whales on this tour, some close to the boat and others further away. We were in an area where we could spot both blows and minke whales surfacing and suddenly we also spotted big splashes, again and again in the distance. We started heading over there but the whale stopped breaching when we got closer. Then again there were splashes in the distance, right next to a flock of feeding birds, again we headed over there but the breaching stopped after a couple of times. Then another minke whale surfaced right next to us and we got a good look at its back and dorsal fin :-)

Report from Elding: The wind got even a bit more than in the morning. The whales they didn't mind and soon we found several minke whales. They were different, some were easy to follow some were rather a longer time diving. A harbour porpoise crossed our way, too. And like in the morning we looked for the porpoises when far in the distance a minke whale breached. Of course we sailed towards it while it breached about five times. Then another minke whale appeared in front of the boat and we spent some time with it. We kept on searching for minke whales and found a view more which weren't really in a good "whale-watching-mood" but still we got very good chances to watch them. The highlight of this tour was again a breaching minke whale, the second one on this tour. We were already on the way back to the harbour when all in a sudden a minke whale breached only twenty meters away from the boat. And it breached and breached and breached...Despite of the rough weather this was a brilliant tour!

Tour at 9:00

Report from Elding: It was very rough today but we were very lucky! We spotted a few minke whales. The first one was a bit difficult so we gave up and found another one. Suddenly some jumping harbour porpoises appeared and at the same time a minke whales breached in a distance! This is really very rare and we were all very excited. We went towards it and it kept on breaching many times. Fantastic! Later we spotted two more minke whales. They surfaced close to the boat and we didn't know where to look, the breaching minke whale or the two which were so close! Actually we had to leave the minke whale in the end while it was still breaching!!! A fantastic tour, indeed!!!Report from Hafsúla: Great tour! We had just arrived at the same area as Elding when a minke whale started breaching! It was a magnificent sighting and it jumped again and again and again and again.... :-) We also spotted some minke whales surfacing and could still see the breaching whale when we left. Really exciting tour!
