Report from Eldey: The wind was still blowing strong during our tour this afternoon, but we were ready to face it. We took a more sheltered route along the coastline, heading up to Akranes. The landscape looked stunning with a few beams of sunshine lightening everything up. A few seabirds were flying around the boat, but they were the only wildlife we could spot. On our way back we went further out in the bay to cover a wider area during our search, however, cetaceans were not to be found. Therefore we gave all our passengers a complimentary ticket, so they can enjoy another whale watching adventure with us for free.

Report from Elding: Blustery northeasterly winds kept us port bound this morning, however calmed down enough to venture out in the afternoon. We gained shelter from the land as we headed into the still windy conditions, the seas were full of white crests but no swells. We enjoyed a variety of birdlife: gulls, fulmars, puffins and terns. We were hoping to travel further north past Hvalfjörður but unfortunately we were not able and so we stayed close to coast looking for whales near land. We passed Lundey puffin island and saw so many puffins swimming on the surface. Before we headed back to port. Unfortunately no whales or dolphins on this tour so we offered our passengers complimentary tickets to come again for free, either here in Reykjavik or with our other company in the north of Iceland, Akureyri.

Report from Eldey: After this morning's tours were cancelled due to the bad weather, we decided to go out after all and try our luck with the whales today. In the shelter of Esja and Akrafjall we headed towards Akranes from where we went further into Faxafloi Bay. With the wind now coming from our back, it was a quite pleasant ride, with lots of sunshine and clouds revealing the landscapes around us. We also got to see quite a few bird species following and passing us by, but unfortunately we did not get to see whales or dolphins. As this is not how we would like our passengers to experience our tours, we offered complimentary tickets to all, which allows them to join another whale watching tour with us within the next two years.
