Tour at 13:00 Report from Hafsúlan: We left from Grindavík today in beautiful but windy weather. We sailed East along the Reykjanes Peninsula which gave us a lot of shelter from these very strong winds. The cliffs and seas near land were teaming with wildlife, thousands of seabirds, the landscape was just stunning too. We were very hopeful for this area especially as sightings have not been so good from Reykjavik over the last few days. We travelled a long way along the peninsula and unfortunately saw no whales and complimentary tickets were given. In the end of the tour however, we saw a feeding frenzy of Gannets plunging into the water from great heights, hundreds of them. Incredible to watch.
Seabirds encountered on todays tour included; Gannets, Fulmars, Kittiwakes, Black Guillemots, Common/Brunnich Guillemots, Razorbills, Cormorants, Shags and Eider Ducks.
