CLASSIC WHALE TOUR l 13:00
Report from Hafsúlan: Today we had wonderful clear, blue skies and lovely calm seas. We headed towards Viðey first as we had heard that whales had been seen in that area recently. However, they weren't there anymore! We continued searching around the islands and then two eagle-eyed passengers spotted a tail by Lundey. We slowly approached the area, and after patiently waiting a few minutes, we saw a pair of humpback whales! They were very calm at the surface and gave us amazing high fluke dives. This meant that we could easily tell that it was the same pair we've been seeing recently - Banana and their friend! We followed them for a while as they fed on sprat close to the sea floor. Most times when they dove beneath the surface they showed off their huge tails and with the calm weather, we could even hear their blows! After watching them for a while, we started to run out of time and sadly had to head back to the harbour but we could admire a beautiful sunset on our way back in!
