CLASSIC WHALE TOUR l 09:00

Report from Hafsulan: We sailed out under a cloud-mottled sky with the rays of sunshine peaking through and keeping us warm. It was a beautiful morning for whale spotting, calm, flat seas and low wind. As we headed out, we got to see some of the adorable little Atlantic puffins which are back for the summer season in order to breed. Suddenly, we spotted a sure sign of a whale, a dark back breaking the surface of the water and a dark, pointy, curved dorsal fin. It was a minke whale! Known for being a bit shy and elusive around vessels, we got some very nice, rather close surfacing sequences from this individual. We stayed with this whale for a while, and then took the scenic route back toward the harbour, admiring the mountains around us on this beautiful day. What a lovely calm morning.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR l 13:00

Report from Hafsulan: The seas were still flat this afternoon even though we had cloudy skies above. It did not take us too long before we spotted our first whale, a Minke whale! It was travelling back and forth and so we stuck along with it for some time. We then briefly saw a pod of 2 Harbour porpoises nearby as well. These encounters set the tone for the afternoon as we saw 2 more minke whales and 3 more pods of porpoises; two of 4 individuals and one more of 2. The sea was truly full of life this afternoon so we had an amazing time out at sea!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 17:00

Report from Hafsulan: We sailed out from Reykjavik port under calm seas and cloudy skies. On our way out we show many Atlantic puffins until we found our first pod of 3 white beaked dolphins. We stay with them for quite a long time. They where pretty playful and not scared of our existence as they came really close and even jumped close to our boat. Later on we came across a minke whale. Soon after we left from this area because this individual was elusive so we let it and continued our way towards the open waters. It didn't took long until we came across our next minke whale that was more curious and we stayed and enjoyed until the time was up and we set course towards our port. On our way back we spotted 2 harbour porpoises and one more more minke whale.
