CLASSIC TOUR ON SCHEDULE |  13:00

Report from Elding: There was very little wind in the bay today but it was dark and gloomy, light rain and with the little wind we had it came in from the west and brought with it some swell. It was like winter with the temperature. So chilly. Luckily tomorrow the temperature is warming up and we have a nice forecast ahead. We were very lucky today with the wildlife as the whales had come to us, very close in. Just off the coastline of the Grótta lighthouse in Reykjavik, you may even have seen the blows from there on a clear day. We saw the blows of 3 humpback whales but only followed and spent most of our time with 2. It was quite difficult conditions but Captain Leo kept the boat as steady as he could. The humpbacks were very difficult, only coming up 2-3 times and then going for dives for at least 10mins. The best sightings were of the second one but even that was surfacing fast. We got to see them but in the end we didn't see them well so we offered our passengers complimentary tickets to try again, we hope, with better conditions and sightings. This is wildlife and we always need to be patient and respectful of it.
